If you need assistance gaining permission into an EECS course and you do not meet the prerequisites to register via Wolverine Access, please request a class permission:
- Request permission into an ECE class (EECS 215, EECS 216, EECS 314, etc.) >
- Request a permission for EECS 461, EECS 501 or EECS 551 >
- Request permission into a CSE class (EECS 203, EECS 281, EECS 482, etc.) >
- Request permission into EECS 280 without the enforced prerequisite >
- To request permission for a class outside of EECS, contact that department directly
Transferring Credit From Another Institution
In general, the ECE Undergraduate Advising Office has a limited role in the process of transferring credit to U of M. The College of Engineering handles the approval and processing of transfer credit and therefore has many resources available to answer student questions about transferring credit. Students can visit the College of Engineering’s Transfer Credit Approval Form website or contact [email protected] for more information.
How do I know if a course taken at another institution will transfer?
The Course Equivalency Database lists courses that will transfer to the College of Engineering from institutions within the United States. Additionally, the College of Engineering maintains a separate Course Equivalency Database that lists courses that will transfer from international institutions. Use these databases as a starting point.
How can I transfer in my credits?

After you finish your class at the other institution with a C or better, you will need to have the other institution send an official transcript to the College of Engineering.
