Class Schedules, Registration, and Booklists
Important Message for Students about Attending Classes
It is critical that students attend classes from the beginning of the term. Even though students may be registered officially for a course, the EECS Department may give away a student’s place in a class if they do not attend the first week of lectures and labs/discussions (as appropriate) for any EECS courses.
At the same time, the EECS Department is not obligated to withdraw students officially from the course, even though the student has been informed that his/her place in a course has been taken away. Students are responsible for the accuracy of their schedules and must be sure that all drops are processed through the registration system during the normal drop/add period.
ECE Free Textbook Initiative
In an effort to combat the rising costs of textbooks, professors from U-M EECS, University of California-Berkeley, and the University of Utah, came together to write new textbooks that students could acquire for free. These highly-successful textbooks are used all over the country.
Textbooks currently available:
- Circuit Analysis and Design (Ulaby, Maharbiz, Furse)
- Signals and Systems: Theory and Applications (Ulaby, Yagle)
- Image Processing for Engineers (Yagle, Ulaby)
ECE Teaching Assignments
Please note: a few changes may have occurred to the teaching assignments after one of these lists was produced. In such cases, the course information center (available to faculty and staff only) will show what actually transpired.
