Advising Appointments
To schedule an advising appointment with one of our advisors, click the button below. Please note that depending on what you want to discuss, you’ll be asked to select an advisor, who may be a faculty or staff member. The list of available faculty and staff can be found below, as well as the types of requests that are best handled by each.

Computer Engineering Virtual Drop-In Advising
Computer Engineering virtual drop-in advising is offered from 2:00-4:00pm on Wednesday for CE students with quick questions (~10 minutes or less). For longer conversations, please continue to schedule regular advising appointments using the link above.

Advising Office Staff
Staff members handle the majority of advising needs for programs in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and the Electrical Engineering minor such as course planning, declarations, releases/senior audits, facilitating forms/exceptions/letter requests, and connecting to various resources including career planning, wellness, course planning, and campus involvement.

Faculty Advisors

Perceval Park
FA24 Office Hours: Mondays 9:00-11:00am, Wednesdays 3:00-4:00pm, Fridays 9:00am-12:00pm
Perceval is a sophomore at the University of Michigan, studying Computer Engineering and Business Administration with a minor in Physics. Within EECS, he enjoys exploring Embedded Systems, Computer Architecture, and Product Management. In his free time, Percy enjoys Olympic Weightlifting, running, and music.
Jacob Root
FA24 Office Hours: Wednesdays 9:30am-12:00pm and 2:00-3:00pm, Fridays 1:00-3:00pm
Jacob is a junior in Electrical Engineering with plans to pursue a Master’s degree through the SUGS program. He is a member of Eta Kappa Nu and has participated on the Michigan Mars Rover Team. In his free time, he enjoys going to Michigan sporting events, running, and playing soccer.
Davis Sheppard
FA24 Office Hours: Mondays 11:00am-1:00pm, Tuesdays 12:30pm-5:00pm
Davis is a senior majoring in Computer Engineering with a minor in Mathematics. He is primarily studying computer architecture and embedded systems, and he spent two years as a software developer for the Michigan Neuroprosthetics Club. In his free time he enjoys playing tennis for the Michigan Club Tennis Team.
Emilia Swierzb

Emilia is a junior double majoring in Electrical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering. She is involved with MRover as a member of the embedded hardware team and the STEM sorority, Phi Sigma Rho. She spent this last summer interning at Navistar in electronics hardware and in the past, she participated in research through UROP and a startup accelerator in Portugal. In her free time, she enjoys backpacking, hiking, and baking. Feel free to reach out to her with any questions related to scheduling, internships, research, study abroad, or extracurriculars.
Petition Instructions for CE and EE Students
Any ECE student (CE major, EE major or EE minor) can petition for modification of academic requirements.
Steps to Submit a Petition:
- Separate Petitions: Complete a separate petition form for each request.
- Relevant Program: Select your major or minor from the dropdown list.
- Rationale: Give a detailed explanation of your request.
- Include Supporting Information: Provide all necessary information to allow the Chief Program Advisor to make an informed decision.
For Petitions Involving Transfer Credit (e.g., requesting MATH 201X to satisfy MATH 216):
- Attach Evaluation: Petition must include the transfer evaluation decision from the CoE Transfer Credit Evaluator or Math Department. If this is not included, your petition will not be processed.
- Explain Discrepancies: Specify why direct equivalency was not granted and which topics were missing.
- Prepare Additional Materials: Be ready to provide additional materials (homework, exams, etc.) if requested.
Allow up to 2 weeks for a petition decision. Please submit your petition through the form below.
