Computer Engineering Virtual Drop-In Advising

Computer Engineering virtual drop-in advising is offered from 2:00-4:00pm on Wednesday for CE students with quick questions (~10 minutes or less). For longer conversations, please continue to schedule regular advising appointments using the link above.

Advising Office Staff

Staff members handle the majority of advising needs for programs in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and the Electrical Engineering minor such as course planning, declarations, releases/senior audits, facilitating forms/exceptions/letter requests, and connecting to various resources including career planning, wellness, course planning, and campus involvement.

Faculty Advisors

Peer Advisors

Peer Advisors are current students in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering who can assist with quick questions about classes, student organizations, course workload combinations, and campus life in general.

Elijah Becker

WN24 Office Hours: Monday (10:00am-12:00pm), Wednesday (10:00am-12:00pm), Thursday (2:00pm-5:00pm), Friday (9:00am-12:00pm)

Elijah is a senior majoring in Computer Engineering with a focus in embedded systems. On campus, he is involved with Cru campus ministry, and has also participated in club running and Spark Electric Racing. Outside of school, he enjoys learning guitar, board games, and almost any pick up sport you can think of!

Mike Dillender

Mike Dillender

WN24 Office Hours: Wednesday (2:00pm-5:00pm), Friday (1:00pm-5:00pm)

Mike is a senior double majoring in Electrical Engineering and Engineering Physics with a minor in Computer Science. In Electrical Engineering, his primary focus area is quantum technology and optics, which he researches as a member of the Excitonics and Photonics group here at Michigan. In his free time, he enjoys programming, making analog circuits, reading, and hiking.

Jae Min Shin

Jae is a first year Master’s student in Electrical & Computer Engineering. He did his undergraduate degree at Michigan and majored in Computer Engineering with minors in Math and Economics. In his free time, he enjoys taking spontaneous road trips and watching movies.

Exceptions/Petitions

Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering students can petition for modification of academic requirements specific to their major by submitting the petition below. Make sure to select your major from the dropdown list, provide detailed rationale, and include supporting information about the request in question. Students must provide enough information for the Chief Program Advisor to be able to make an informed decision. Please allow 1-2 weeks for a petition decision.
