Graduate School for current U-M Undergraduate Students

Current U-M undergraduate students can apply for graduate school using the standard application, and must use this application when applying to the doctoral program.

In addition, ECE offers two special programs for current University of Michigan undergraduate students to facilitate getting a master’s degree.

Sequential Undergraduate/Graduate Studies (SUGS) program

SUGS allows current University of Michigan undergraduates to complete a bachelor’s and master’s degree in a total of five years.

3.4 Program

Current University of Michigan undergraduate students with at least a 3.4 GPA can apply for admission to the master’s program without taking the GRE or sending in letters of recommendation.

NOTE: Standard MS applications are only processed annually (Jan 15 deadline to start in following Fall). SUGS and 3.4 applications are processed in both Fall and Winter semesters.
