Students, alumni, faculty, and friends came together for games and exciting displays at this year’s Family Fun Night. Attendees of all ages brought the EECS atrium to life in an evening of science, robots, and more.

The event highlighted the projects and work of several student teams and labs, giving kids and adults alike a chance to see ECE’s ingenuity in action. The Electric Motorcycle team showed off their previous model, a speedy machine designed for drag racing. Crowds were delighted by the optics group’s hologram, Prof. Amir Mortazawi’s wireless power display, and Project Music’s hand-made instruments. Prof. Jessy Grizzle opened the show with a walking MARLO, a jaw-dropping sight for the kids

MARLO made quite an impression when she took a stroll outside the EECS building.

Parents and children alike could put their engineering minds to the test in the spaghetti marshmellow tower challenge, chow down at the hot dog stand, let out their creative side with arts and crafts, and build cool catapaults.

The night closed with several guest performances. Angels on Call performed an a cappella set, the Revolution Chinese Yoyo/Diablo team showed off their complex choreography, and Project Music put on a rock show.
