Micro-Nano manipulation is a key technique for various biological and medical applications. We constructed a unique nanomanipulation system under an environmental- scanning electron microscope (E-SEM) to realize nanoscale manipulation of micro-nano tools for water-containing specimen, especially biological specimen. To observe the inner structure of biological specimen, we combined the optical microscope (OM) with E-SEM including fluorescent observation. As example, we demonstrated a novel method for selective micro-nanoinjection of Caenorhabditis elegans (C. elegans) using nanoprobe tools based on the system. This seminar presents the micro-nano manipulation techniques and their applications with some technical challenges and future directions.
