2024 EECS Outstanding Achievement Awards

The EECS Department has honored four faculty for their sustained excellence in instruction and curricular development, distinguished participation in service activities, or for their significant achievements in scholarly research.

Four faculty have received an Outstanding Achievement Award from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.  The award recognizes individual faculty for special contributions made in teaching, research, and/or service.

The recipients of the 2024 EECS Outstanding Achievement Award are:

For contributions to situated natural language processing, and demonstrated advances in embodied dialogue.

For extraordinary accomplishments in translating breakthrough innovations in artificial photosynthesis and GaN nanoLEDs into practical applications in sustainable energy, displays, and disinfection through the founding of two companies.

Chris Peikert

Chris Peikert

For fundamental contributions to cryptography, including pioneering research in post-quantum cryptography.

Peter Seiler

Peter Seiler

For impactful contributions to robust control, including theory, computational tools, and industrial applications; for award-winning performance in teaching; and for selfless service to our students, to the control group, and to ECE as a whole.
