CSE Lecturer Candidate
This presentation is aimed at students who just finished learning about discrete probability. It will introduce the notion of a random variable and go into analyzing them using expected value and variance. First, we will go through the rationale and definition of them and then go over several examples of applying them.
Emily Graetz has been teaching at The University of Michigan as an intermittent lecturer since 2016. She has lectured Discrete Mathematics and was previously a graduate student instructor in Introduction to Cryptography and Programming and Introductory Data Structures. She earned her Master's in Computer Science in 2016 and her Master's in Mathematics in 2017, both from The University of Michigan. This parallels her undergraduate degree of a Bachelor's in Computer Science and Mathematics from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
