In recognition of Pride Month, ECE will be holding a movie night to recognize the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan and the impact that LGBTQ+ individuals have had on history locally, nationally, and internationally. We will be screening the film The Danish Girl. Immediately following the film, we will hold a short discussion (beginning at 8:30pm ET) led by Johnny Linn, the ECE Master’s Program Coordinator.
About the movie: The remarkable love story inspired by the lives of artists Lili Elbe and Gerda Wegener (portrayed by Academy Award winner Eddie Redmayne [“The Theory of Everything”] and Alicia Vikander [“Ex Machina”]), directed by Academy Award winner Tom Hooper (“The King’s Speech,” “Les Mis’erables”). Lili and Gerda’s marriage and work evolve as they navigate Lili’s groundbreaking journey as a transgender pioneer.
You can find out more information about the film on IMDB.
